Reception — Four Peaks Ballroom
120 at dinner in a room whose plan is 66 points, not four.
ADERO Scottsdale Resort, Autograph Collection · Four Peaks Ballroom · 91′ × 59.5′

Why it is laid out this way
- Every door in this ballroom stands in its own recess and the piers between them step into the floor — drawn as a box, the room would offer about 300 ft² it does not have.
- The tables are placed against the traced perimeter, so nothing lands inside a pier and nothing blocks a recessed door.
- The recesses stop being a problem and start being the plan: the cake, the bar and the buffet go in them.
What the plan measures
The room it is drawn in
The event space is surveyed once and every diagram of it inherits this. It is why the plan above can be checked at all.
Enclosed room. Floor: carpet. Walls: wallcovering.
Where this room came from
Four Peaks Ballroom at ADERO Scottsdale Resort, Autograph Collection is a real event space. Its geometry here is reconstructed from the resort's published floor plan, and checked against the resort's published square footage, which the traced perimeter reproduces.
What the published drawing does not state, and we therefore assumed: the floor and wall finishes, which the plan does not state; the ceiling height, which the plan does not state — so it is left unset rather than guessed; the door leaf widths, set to the openings the traced recesses actually give. It is listed rather than quietly filled in, because a measurement nobody took is not a measurement.
