Why it is laid out this way
- The same quad as the commencement plan, with the same four elms and the same bronze — a second diagram of one space, not a second space.
- The beer garden is fenced with a single controlled entrance, because that is what a licence on a campus lawn actually requires.
- The centre of the quad is deliberately empty: the bronze is what everybody photographs, and the tents sit in the quarters around it.
