Prismm is shutting down: your export checklist
Prismm stopped taking new events on August 26, 2026 and access ends June 2027. Everything to export before then — even if you're staying with Cvent.

If you use Prismm (or still think of it as AllSeated), two dates matter. The first has already passed: since August 26, 2026, new events can only be created in Cvent Event Diagramming. The second is June 2027, when Prismm access ends and your work stays view-only inside Cvent. Between those two dates your existing Prismm events remain fully editable — Cvent extended that runway, and a lot of guides written earlier (ours included, until September 16, 2026) still quote a superseded October 1 date.
This post is not an argument about where to go next — that’s in the full sunset guide: what survives the Cvent migration, and the options you actually have. It’s the checklist of what to get out of Prismm before the door closes — and it applies just as much if you’re staying inside Cvent, because the official migration does not carry everything with it. Per Cvent’s own transition materials: Prismm templates are not automatically preserved as reusable layouts, favorites and object groups don’t migrate, and events created before January 1, 2022 will not be available in the new environment at all.
Export these seven things
- Floor plans for every space you use. Export the highest-quality PDF or image available for each room — with dimensions visible if the plan supports it. These are the seeds of whatever tool you rebuild in.
- Your templates and standard setups. This is the big one, because it is exactly what the migration drops. Export each template as a PDF at minimum. If a setup exists only inside an old event, open that event and export it too.
- Every pre-2022 event you might ever reference. These don’t come across in any form. Annual galas, recurring conferences, that one layout the client loved three years ago — export or lose.
- Guest lists and seating charts. Download attendee data as spreadsheets wherever the option exists, not as images. A CSV re-imports; a PNG doesn’t.
- Capacity charts and room rules. If you’ve recorded per-setup capacities, ceiling heights, or notes on your spaces, capture them — screenshot if you have to. Venue operational knowledge is the hardest thing to recreate from memory.
- Vendor and collaborator lists. Note who has access to which events. You’ll be re-inviting these people somewhere new, and the fastest way to lose a caterer’s trust is to lose their markup history without warning them.
- Anything 3D you paid for. If your venue commissioned 3D modeling or photography inside Prismm, ask Cvent support in writing what happens to those assets and what formats you can take with you.
Do it this week, not September 29
Two reasons. First, new-event creation is already ending on a rolling, account-by-account basis — your account’s cutoff may be earlier than the headline date. Second, every venue and planner on the platform received the same deadline, and support queues behave the way you’d expect as a hard date approaches. The export itself is a few hours of clicking for most accounts. Schedule it like a load-in: block the time, work the checklist, confirm the files open.
A note on where to rebuild
Once your exports are safe, you have a real choice, and it’s worth making deliberately. Cvent Event Diagramming is a capable product attached to a large suite, with paid public plans that require a 12-month commitment — if you’re weighing staying with Cvent, we’ve broken down what that actually costs per event and per editor. The independent path is to rebuild your standard setups in a focused tool instead — we’ve written an honest comparison, including where Cvent wins, on our Prismm alternative page. If you send us your exported PDFs, we’ll convert your standard room plans into editable, to-scale layouts as part of onboarding, and you can run both tools in parallel for 60 days on a real event before deciding anything. Where you land depends on what you run — we’ve mapped the move separately for wedding planners and for hotels & event venues.
Whatever you choose: export first. The work you’ve done in that tool is yours, and for a few more weeks it’s one click away.
