Saved setups on an event space
"Banquet for 280" living on the room it belongs to.
Written guides for this lesson
- What are the standard room setup styles?
Banquet, theater, classroom, conference, U-shape, hollow square and reception are the seven setups nearly every event uses. Each one trades seats for space in a predictable way, which is why the same room holds 280 in banquet rounds and 336 in theater rows.
Transcript
0:03Most venues do the same handful of setups over and over. Banquet for two-eighty. Theater for three-thirty-six. Classroom in the small room.
0:12Rather than keeping those in a folder somewhere, you save them onto the event space itself. Here's a plan in the Grand Ballroom. Let's make it one of the ballroom's setups.
0:22The menu at the top right, next to Share, is where it lives.
0:26Save this setup to the Grand Ballroom. It names the room it's going to, because that's where you'll look for it later.
0:33Give it the name you'd actually say out loud. Banquet two-eighty. Not layout seven.
0:38And save. That's it — the ballroom now knows how to do a banquet for two-eighty.
0:44One thing worth doing on purpose: select part of the plan before you save, and only that part is kept. The staging package without the tables, say, or the bars and the dance floor on their own.
0:55Now open Spaces, and there it is — on the ballroom, with the rooms you actually book.
1:02Click one and it opens a new diagram, already laid out. No hunting through a folder, no duplicating last year's and renaming it.
1:10From here it's an ordinary diagram. Move what's different about this booking and leave the rest alone.
1:16And anything you star shows up on the same shelf — so a real plan from a real event becomes next month's starting point.
