Seating the sides of a table
Head tables, tables against a wall, and the real eight-top.

Select the table and use the per-side chair control in the right-hand panel. One side seats a head table; each of the four sides also has its own stepper, so a table against a wall or a 3+3+1+1 eight-top is a couple of clicks.

0:03Chairs come with the table, and most of the time the automatic arrangement is right. A head table isn't. Here's how to say which sides get chairs.
0:12Six chairs, three down each long side. Under Chairs on the right there's a small plan of the table, with a minus and a plus on each of its four sides.
0:21Take it down to one a side and you can see what two chairs does on its own — they land opposite each other, facing across the table.
0:29For two people sitting together, that's wrong. One side moves them both to the same edge.
0:34That's your head table — and adding chairs keeps them on that side, spreading out along the length instead of jumping across.
0:41All around seats the ends as well as the sides. That's the real eight-top — three, three, and one at each end.
0:48Ends only is the conference setup. Both sides is the banquet default. And if none of them is quite it, every side has its own stepper.
0:57The seat count follows whatever you set, and Reset to auto hands the table back if you'd rather start again.
