Lesson 17 of 21 · 1:07
Copying objects into another diagram
Take part of one plan into another, without rebuilding it.
Written guides for this lesson
- How do I reuse part of a floor plan in another event?
Select the objects you want, then either copy and paste them into the other plan or send them straight there with Copy to another diagram. The staging, the bars and the dance floor travel together; the plan you copied from is untouched.
Transcript
0:03Here is something people rebuild by hand every week. You have a plan you like, and the next event wants most of it — the staging, the bars, the dance floor — just not all of it.
0:14Start by selecting what you want. Drag a box around it, or hold shift and click each piece.
0:21Now right-click the selection. Copy puts it on your clipboard, and that clipboard survives a reload and a second tab — so you can copy here, open the other plan, and paste.
0:31Or skip the paste entirely. Copy to another diagram sends them straight there, without opening it.
0:38Pick the plan you want them in. Search if you have a lot of them.
0:45They land in the middle of that room, on their own layers, ready to move. Nothing about the plan you copied from has changed.
0:52One thing worth knowing: a table block copies as a block, not as loose tables — so it still renumbers and still fills the way it did where you built it.
